Goodwill of the Olympics and Rainier Region ETPL
The Introduction to Industry Skills Training Program provides approximately 12 hours of classroom instruction and hands-on training each week for six weeks. Classes are small, allowing for hands-on support in the classroom, and to qualify, students must be at least 18 years of age. This course prepares the participants for entry-level jobs in the tech industry as helpdesk technicians or IT technicians. Participants will be introduced to the prevailing computer functions along with the how to managing and maintaining a laptop and a desktop. This IT Fundamental course will also touch on the concept of System applications and software applications. Because the need to train people with tangible skills outweighs the one to training them solely with the knowledge, this course is centered on a strong built-in series of lab sessions. Participants will be attending two lab sessions per week.
