Scope This course is intended to provide the knowledge required for all personnel who are not assigned specific duties in connection with a security plan but are involved in the work of ports, facilities and vessels and are therefore affected by the requirements for security-related training, Paragraphs 1-4 of Section A-VI/6 and Table A-VI/6-1 of the STCW Code, as amended 2010 AND satisfy the training requirements of 33 CFR 104.225.

This course is open to students who certify that they are 18 years of age and are adequately conversant in 
the English language to meet the requirements outlined in the US Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 47
§ 80.102(a); 80.151(3); 80.519(a); 80.1181(b)(2)

 

This course is intended to provide the knowledge required for all personnel who are not assigned specific duties in connection with a security plan but are involved in the work of ports, facilities, and vessels, and are therefore affected by the requirements for security-related training as listed below. Those who successfully complete our USCG Approved Maritime Security Awareness (MARINS-561) course will satisfy:

The Security Awareness requirements of 46 CFR 12.627(a)(1); AND The Security Awareness standards of competence required by STCW Code Section A-VI/6 paragraph 4 and Table A-VI/6-1, as amended 2010, meeting the National Assessment Guidelines from NVIC 21-14(Ch-1).
