This training course is designed to comply with the International Maritime Organization and United States Coast Guard (USCG) training course requirements for STCW Basic Safety Training that includes both theory and practical training as delineated in the International Convention of Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping, the Seafarer's Training, Certification and Watchkeeping Code, the United States Code of Federal Regulations, and applicable USCG National Maritime Center Policy for "First Aid & CPR."
Each student must, as a minimum, be able to speak and understand the English language and be at least 18 years old. No physical examination is required however each student must be able to be physically capable of independently performing each of the course required practical demonstrations without endangering others due to any physical impairment.
