This 4-hour course is designed to meet the examination requirements of 46 CFR 11.482 for Assistance Towing Endorsement and the USCG Deck and Engineering Guide for the Administration of Merchant Marine Examinations August 2014, Assistance Towing Endorsement- Any Deck Officer Endorsement. This course is designed for in person presentation using the site(s) listed in the Facilities and Equipment section. This course may also be presented through Computer Base Training (CBT) online. Testing for this course must be conducted at the site(s) listed in the Facilities and Equipment section.
This course is open to students that must, as a minimum, be able to speak and understand the English language and be at least 16 years old. No physical examination is required. Most students attending this course do so as a prerequisite to apply for an original license as a deck officer or to meet specific employment requirements.
