ScopeBasic Training Refresher is intended to provide the student with refresher training in personal survivaltechniques (PST), fire prevention firefighting (FF), elementary first aid (FA), and personal safety social responsibility (PSSR) in accordance with the Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeepingfor Seafarers (STCW) Code, Section A-VI/1 and Tables A-VI/1-1 through A-VI/1-4, as amended andNVIC 8-14 (CH-1), Subj: Guidelines for Qualification for STCW Endorsements in Basic Training(formerly Basic Safety Training).A mariner who successfully completes this course will satisfy the continued competency requirements for: STCW Basic Training in STCW Section A-VI/1, 46 CFR 11.302(e) and 46 CFR 12.602(e); AND Approval should also include the applicable task numbers from the national assessment guidelinesof Navigation and Vessel Inspection Circular No. 8-14, CH 1 Subj: Guidelines for Qualification forSTCW Endorsements in Basic Training (formerly Basic Safety Training) as detailed in the table onthe following page.
