Radar Observer Recertification

This course will satisfy the requirements of 46 CFR 11.480(d) and follows the curriculum guidance in NVIC 9-94, Guidelines for Training and Certification in the Use of Marine Radar for renewal of any Radar Observer endorsement. The course provides the trainee how to demonstrate proficiency in the use of radar for collision avoidance and navigation in accordance with training requirements recommended in Table A Il/1 of Standards for Training and Certification of Watchkeepers (STCW) Code as amended in accordance with the Manila accords and the requirements for renewal of Radar Observer (Unlimited, Inland or Rivers) endorsement contained in 46 CFR 11.480(d). The course will have recertification training and the same practical assessment as the original course for the applicable type of radar observer endorsement.
