OIC of Washington's Culinary School is a Washington State private vocational school with its office, classroom and kitchen located in Yakima, Washington. The program consists of in-class instruction, online programs, certification training, and hands-on practice. Online programs include Red Comet, Metrix, and zSpace which are virtual software in an asynchronous learning format allowing students to access materials at their own pace and interact with each other over longer periods. The hands-on training may be supplemented by an externship at a local restaurant or other food service site. This program is designed to prepare students for entry-level employment in various food service operations. Students will gain the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in the culinary industry including food safety, cooking techniques, customer service, and kitchen management.
