This is a hybrid learning structure intended to help you prepare for and successfully pass the ASCP SBB examination. Much of the learning content will be delivered remotely using the Blackboard platform. The core materials are shared between the affiliate sites, and then the BWNW faculty have provided supplemental lectures and learning sessions to complement the core materials. All materials have been developed with the ASCP SBB exam Content Outline and Reading List in mind. Additionally, Bloodworks instructors have a wealth of experience to share with the student, whether the vision is to head into leadership or management, work in an Immunohematology Reference Laboratory, or to experience personal growth from gaining a deeper knowledge of transfusion medicine.
For the clinical rotations associated with this program, the BWNW program coordinator will work with each student to develop a plan. Where possible, the clinical rotation can be done under the direction of a mentor in a local facility. For those rotations that cannot be accomplished close to home, Bloodworks can offer the rotation to the student.
