The MEIPN elementary courses present the Montessori philosophy and curriculum as applied to the developmental needs of children in the six to nine or six to twelve age range. The academic phase prepares the adult learner for the presentation of Cosmic and basic academic subjects in integrated and individualized programs. The way course subjects are presented emphasizes the development of all aspects of the child: spiritual, emotional, cognitive, social, and physical. Respect for the individual and differences in learning style are emphasized. The diversity of teaching strategies these differences necessitate is a focus throughout the course. The year-long practicum provides an opportunity to practice and refine the information presented in the academic phase. Only one practicum must be completed at either the six to nine, or nine to twelve level, to become certified for six to twelve. Students who have completed a practicum for the 6 - 9 level do not need to do another to extend their credential to the six to twelve level. Please note that the credentials offered are for six-to-nine or six-to-twelve. There is no credential at this time for the nine to twelve level only.
