A cybersecurity analyst is tasked with hardening systems against external intrusion and investigating security breaches within IT systems. Related occupational roles include network technicians and network security administrators. Network technicians are more focused on network infrastructure and connectivity troubleshooting, while network security administrators are typically more internally-focused in their security activities (there may be significant overlap at some employers).
Minimum qualifications must be clearly stated and applied in a nondiscriminatory manner [WAC 296-05-015(17)]. At least 18 years of age. Must be able to perform the work of the occupations that is herein defined, with or without reasonable accommodation. Candidates who are not United States citizens must demonstrate work eligibility through the duration of the term of apprenticeship.
