This certificate provides students that are already fluent in English and Spanish with the vocabulary and phraseology necessary to communicate effectively and professionally with Spanish-speaking patients and family members in clinical settings. Students that successfully complete this certificate can go on to take the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services Language Testing and Certification if they wish to become a state certified medical interpreter.
