Professional drafters make ideas possible. They take a concept created by an engineer or an architect and turn it into a technical drawing so that it can be built or manufactured. This program prepares students to enter the field of mechanical or architectural drafting. They will learn to apply manual and CAD techniques, while becoming familiar with the industry standards used in aerospace industries (ANSI, ISO, and AIA). They will practice mechanical drafting, geometric dimensioning, tolerances, and flat-pattern development. They will also study electronic schematics, document control procedures, and pictorial drawing.
