Headway Nursing Services

The 75-Hour Home Care Aide (HCA) Blended Training Program prepares students to serve as certified caregivers for elderly and vulnerable adults in Washington State long-term care settings. The program combines 43 hours of asynchronous online theoretical instruction via the Relias Learning Management System with 32 hours of hands-on in-person clinical skills training conducted in small weekend cohorts of 4 students. Curriculum content aligns with Washington State DSHS training standards under WAC 388-71 and WAC 388-112A and includes orientation, safety, core basic training, mental health specialty, dementia specialty, and clinical skills practicum. Upon successful completion, students receive a Certificate of Completion qualifying them to sit for the Washington State HCA Certification Examination administered by the Department of Health.

Data is unavailable for one of several reasons: In some cases, the institution has not provided the Workforce Board with data to independently evaluate program performance. We encourage all schools to provide this data on an annual basis. In other cases, the program joined Career Bridge recently and student data has not been reported yet. In other cases, the program is too small or too new to provide reliable results.
