The HCA to NA-C Bridge Program is designed to support credentialed Home Care Aides (HCAs) in transitioning to the Nursing Assistant-Certified (NA-C) role by addressing the knowledge and skills not covered in HCA training. Student must be at least 18 years old Student must have proof of active Washington State Home Care Aide (HCA) certification Student must have a copy of completion from an approved alternative program for home care aides-certified Student must complete a nursing assistant-certified application Student must have a Negative tuberculosis test or documentation of a completed two-step tuberculosis test within one year A DSHS background check must be completed A criminal background check and verification of major medical insurance Student must have CPR/First Aid Certification

The course prepares the student for a state written exam to get certified. Theory has 9 units as required by WABON. Assignment, quizzes, tests are given to evaluate learning. Practice tests can be obtained from Credentia or text books. Hands on practice in the skills lab, Real life experiences in the clinical site and at the end of the course the student has to pass the mock test.
