Automotive Engine Repair/Engine Performance Tech

This ASE-certified program is designed to prepare students for entry-level positions as automotive technicians. Students participate in realistic training experiences that prepare them for pre-apprenticeship training and ASE certification. Students in Automotive Technician, Ford MLR, or Automotive Collision Technician programs must pass all program classes with a grade of 'C' (2.0) or higher in order to enroll in the next quarter program courses shown on the degree or certificate education plan. To remain in the program, all students must have the required textbooks by the start of the third week of classes and the required tools by the start of the second quarter. To receive a certificate or degree in an automotive program, all courses must be completed with a 'C' (2.0) GPA or higher.

Successful completion of ENG 094 or meet appropriate placement and be concurrently enrolled in MAT 092 or meet appropriate placement while enrolled in IAUT. Successful completion of Introduction to Automotive or Ford Maintenance & Light Repair Technician certificate, or equivalent with a C+ (2.3) in each IAUT and FAUT class in order to register for first quarter classes in automotive technician or automotive collision technician programs. A valid driver's license is required. Automotive Collision Technician, or equivalent.
