COURSE DESCRIPTION:This introductory course will provide students with the skillsand knowledge necessary to enter the health care professionas an entry-level medication assistant. Once certified,medication assistants will be authorized to administer certainmedications and perform certain treatment in a nursinghome, under the direct supervision of a designated registerednurse. Students will receive 100 hours of lecture and clinicalinstruction. Upon completion, students will be provided withthe skills necessary to become a Certified MedicationAssistant through the State of Washington. The maximumclass size is 20 students with a ratio not to exceed 10:1 forclinical
