An Introductory Arboriculture course which may be beneficial for individuals preparing for the International Society of Arboriculture certification exam. This class provides an introduction to the science behind arboriculture for the working arborist, or for those who are interested in the field. Topics include basic plant biology, tree selection, installation, the tree-soil connection, pruning, nutrient management, diagnosis and integrated pest management. It is recommended that the students purchase the ISA Certified Arborist Study Guide, 4th edition for the Arborist Certification Exam, but it is not required for this course.
