The Nursing program involves more than just the teaching of health science and pathophysiology. The program promotes a commitment to caring as well. Students are prepared with knowledge and skills which will enable them to practice their profession anywhere in the United States. The Associate Degree Nursing program prepares the graduate to manage and care for groups of patients in complex nursing situations, including acute care, long term care, and in a variety of other health care settings. Graduates receive an Associate in Applied Science degree in Nursing. “With additional credits, an Associate in Arts degree may be granted.” Graduates are qualified to take the National Council Examination for licensure as a Registered Nurse.Candidates who meet the preliminary admission requirements for the two-year clinical program in Associate Degree Nursing will be accepted on a competitive basis. Licensed Practical Nurses who wish to enter the Registered Nurse program are admitted on a space available basis for one year of study after requirements are met.
