Master 100 Tons

Compass Courses by Maritime Institute ETPL
This U.S. Coast Guard-Approved course meets the written examination requirement for the following National endorsements: Master of vessels less than 100 Gross Registered Tons (Near Coastal, or Great Lakes Inland, or Inland Waters) Operator of Uninspected Passenger Vessels (OUPV) (Near Coastal, or Great Lakes Inland, or Inland Waters). The course certificate may be used for one application which results in the issuance of an endorsement and may not be used for any application transactions thereafter. In other words, if you are issued an OUPV after submitting this certificate to the NMC with your license application, and in the future you want to upgrade to a Master Near Coastal, you may not reuse that certificate with your future application. You must at that time complete new exam requirements to upgrade from OUPV to Master. Upon registering for a Master 100 Tons IN-CLASS session: We will mail you the following required books with instructions on what to study in advance of your class: (3) Maritime Institute Captain Course textbooks, and (1) U.S. Coast Guard Navigation Rules Regulations Handbook also known as the "Rules of the Road" handbook. Plotting tools will be loaned to you in-class. We highly advise that students register at least one month in advance to allow adequate time to study. The CLASSROOM sessions are held over two weeks, Monday through Friday 8:00 am until 5:00 pm, with approx. 2-5 hours of homework every night and on weekends. Final examinations are taken in-class on the last day.
