Spanish Medical Interpreter

The Columbia Basin College (CBC) Spanish Medical Interpreting Program (SMIP) is an expanded program from our previous C01 three-course short-term certificate. This expanded C20 certificate is now a six-course, 30-credit certificate that provides students with the knowledge, skills,and clinical experience to carry out the duties of a healthcare interpreter at the entry level. This program will prepare students for their entrance to the interpreting profession in addition to preparing them to take a national healthcare interpreter certification exam.
