Accessibility and Disability Studies Certificate

Central Washington University - Ellensburg ETPL
The accessibility and disability studies certificate provides an interdisciplinary opportunity to learn about the challenges facing people with disabilities and limitations, estimated to be nearly a fifth of the population. The certificate documents the graduate’s demonstration of competence in recognizing both physical and social barriers and analyzing contexts and materials for inclusion. This competence is attractive to employers who must all comply with legislation, such as the Americans with Disabilities Act, intended to protect entitlement to activities of daily living in all environments- work, home, school, shopping, medical, leisure, and virtual. The accessibility studies certificate is personally meaningful as well as a professional development opportunity of value to all fields.
