The Associate in Business degree is a direct transfer degree that prepares students to transfer to four-year colleges and universities in the area of business, having satisfied the lower division general education (or core) requirements and lower division business requirements. Students who complete an Associate in Business DTA degree will have satisfied the lower division general education (or core) requirements and lower division business requirements at the baccalaureate institutions, subject to the provisos listed in the Intercollege Relations Commission Handbook. Upon successful completion of this degree a student will be able to: Understand patterns and make connections among different disciplines and schools of knowledge and to integrate studies with personal experience. Learn actively and gain comprehensive understanding; to think critically, creatively, and reflectively in order to solve problems; to communicate with clarity and originality for personal growth and productive work; and to interact in diverse and complex environments and complicated, dynamic, and ambiguous situations. Understand the relationships among business, government, the economy, and society and the management of business organizations, to include planning, human resources, marketing, finance, and accounting.
