Nurse Educator

Washington State University ETPL
The Nurse Educator certificate is specifically designed for nurses who envision a role in shaping the future of nursing as an academic educator or professional educator in a clinical setting. This program can be taken as a standalone certificate by working nurses seeking to advance their careers in education, or as an addition to another graduate program in the College of Nursing. Through a series of three courses, the certificate develops the skills necessary for creating learning experiences designed for academic or practice settings, utilizing assessments that measure learner development towards competency of key performance outcomes, and incorporating innovative teaching and learning strategies that meet the needs of today’s diverse learners. Additionally, the certificate program offers an optional* practicum experience for students who seek an opportunity to apply their learning in the academic or professional education setting.
