This course builds on the 75-hours of education the Home Care Aide have already completed and teaches the remaining standards of practice and competences to become a Nursing Assistant Certified. (CNA) Upon successful completion of the course the home care aide will be eligible to take the Nursing Assistant Certified exam.

Prerequisite courses and other requirements
Must be able to read, write, understand, and speak English. High school diploma or GED required. Must be physically able to perform nursing assistant duties. 75-hour Home Care Aide Certificate and CPR/First Aid certification required. Pass background check prior to class start date. Negative 2-Step TB test or Chest X-Ray within the last 12 months required. Seasonal flu vaccination may be required for fall, winter, and early spring sessions. Negative Covid test result required before clinical rotation.
