The Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) requires that all Long-term Care Workers (LTCs) acquire the Home Care Aide (HCA) Certificate by undergoing a 75-hour basic training course. LTC workers are those who work in residential care settings such as assisted living facilities (ALF), adult family homes (AFH), and home-care agencies. They include caregivers and individual providers (IPs).
The HCA Training Certificate must be completed 120 days after hire. You must submit proof of completion with your HCA Application to take the WA State HCA Certification Examination

Data is unavailable for one of several reasons: In some cases, the institution has not provided the Workforce Board with data to independently evaluate program performance. We encourage all schools to provide this data on an annual basis. In other cases, the program joined Career Bridge recently and student data has not been reported yet. In other cases, the program is too small or too new to provide reliable results.
