Coast Salish Wool Weaving at Tulalip Nation

This year-long certificate will teach you the practice and cultural value of wool weaving. You will take projects from raw wool and create completed woven pieces through an Indigenous lens. The certificate with focus on vitalizing customary practices specific to the Tulalip Nation. Embark on a journey of discovery and creation through wool weaving, informed by the Coast Salish worldview. In this hands-on certificate, we will use mind, body, and spirit to uplift Indigenous art and memory. Weaving is an ancient endeavor practiced around the world by plant, animal, and human beings. With perspectives enriched by ancestral stories, we will embrace the knowledge of our first teachers, the Plant and Animal People. We will make meaning that amplifies our creativity and imagination, evolving our art as weavers.
