Flagging

Pierce College ETPL
Certified flaggers are responsible for worker and public safety during road construction, utility work and maintenance operations. Through visual movements and appearance, flaggers must establish authority and confidence so traffic will respond in time and consistently with the need to stop, change lanes, proceed more slowly or maneuver as necessary around the work site. This course prepares students to receive a flagger certification card, valid for three years in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana. Students must be at least 18 years old.
