Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

The Evergreen State College ETPL
This certificate will prepare students to develop a systemic understanding of power and privilege across differences and implement strategies for building inclusive and equitable workplaces and communities. Students will explore perspectives on systemic oppression in the U.S. and the ways that racism, heteropatriarchy, ableism, and other forms of oppression shape intrapersonal, organizational, and community-level dynamics. Coursework in this certificate will help students identify the possibilities and challenges overdeveloping change practices rooted in accountability, interdependence, and systemic transformation. Students will explore diverse theories, tools, and methods to address issues of justice and inclusion across a variety of organizations, institutions, and communities.
