Dental Assisting

Accelerated Academy LLC - Burlington ETPL
The hybrid dental assisting course will run ten (10) consecutive weeks, eight (8) clock hours per week for a total of eighty (80) clock hours of instruction. This will include 40 hours of lecture material delivered through the online platform Canvas, and 40 hours of in-person clinical "hands-on" training. Each week, students will complete the assigned online learning modules at their convenience prior to the associated clinical session. Technical and instructional support for the online modules will be provided to the students as needed by our administration team. All online course materials will be made fully available to students at the start of the course. Students are expected to review all weekly modules which include videos, reading materials, graded assignments, graded quizzes and supplementary resources, completing each module in the order they appear in Canvas. Required readings, videos and assignments must be completed before the associated in-person clinical session. This structured progression ensures a logical and coherent understanding of the course content. Throughout each module, there will be Knowledge Checks after individual lessons and Module Quizzes for the student to gauge their comprehension of the material. Students must achieve a score of 100% on the Knowledge Checks and Module Quizzes to move forward (students will have the ability to retake as often as necessary to get the required score). This ensures that students have a thorough understanding of the key concepts before proceeding. Students may advance to the next module only after successfully completing the module. In each clinical session, students will receive hands-on training from Accelerated Academy's experienced and qualified instructors in ALL aspects of general dental assisting, including dental specialties and radiography training. Students will complete rotations at a minimum of three "stations." These stations will vary each session, progressing with the course material. Students will have several opportunities to review and repeat each clinical station which will help students master the practical skills. During the course, Accelerated Academy will provide Basic Life Support CPR instruction, a certification that will be needed as a Dental Assistant. Job interview preparation and coaching is available to students and is also included in the cost of tuition. Students who successfully complete the course will receive a certificate of completion.

Data is unavailable for one of several reasons: In some cases, the institution has not provided the Workforce Board with data to independently evaluate program performance. We encourage all schools to provide this data on an annual basis. In other cases, the program joined Career Bridge recently and student data has not been reported yet. In other cases, the program is too small or too new to provide reliable results.
