Immersion Year 2

Wilderness Awareness School
Like The Immersion, Immersion Year 2 is a nine month, intensive dive into the full breadth of Wilderness Awareness School's naturalist and mentoring curriculum, and continues to provide the foundation for further Adult Nature Instructor Training or Youth Nature Instructor Training studies. In this advanced course, studentscontinue to explore the curriculum for which they gained foundations during year one and also explore newskills and learning in the WAS curriculum. This is also an opportunity for students to deepen into the learning community created by The Immersion. Immersion Year 2 begins in early September and ends in late May/early June. The program is divided into two registration sessions - Fall session and Winter/Spring session. The class averages 10 students, with a maximum class size of 14, and an average student/teacher ratio of 5:1. The normal weekly routine generally involves classes on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. There will also be a few Friday class days throughout the year. Most days are 9am to 3pm, with any exceptions noted on seasonal schedules distributed in class. Office hours are 8am to 4pm weekdays.

In other cases, the program is too small or too new to provide reliable results.
