Prerequisite courses and other requirements

Cornerstone Healthcare Training requires all applicants to complete a pre-enrollment basic skills and comprehension assessment prior to enrollment, in compliance with WAC 490-105-140. The assessment consists of a standardized set of required questions designed to evaluate measurable indicators aligned with both training success and employment prerequisites for the caregiving role. These include: Understanding of course expectations and ability to complete coursework and assignments Ability to engage with instructional materials and follow directions Access to and ability to use required technology Communication and comprehension ability, with or without support such as translation tools Physical and functional readiness to perform basic caregiving tasks Personal attributes relevant to caregiving, such as patience, flexibility, and adaptability Students must score 80 percent or higher to be admitted into the program. (*assessment uploaded in comments section) Students are also required to submit a copy of their WA DSHS-approved 5 hour Orientation and Safety certificates to complete the program.
