Cornerstone Healthcare Training requires all applicants to complete a pre-enrollment basic skills and comprehension assessment prior to enrollment, in compliance with WAC 490-105-140.
The assessment consists of a standardized set of required questions designed to evaluate measurable indicators aligned with both training success and employment prerequisites for the caregiving role. These include:
- Understanding of course expectations and ability to complete coursework and assignments
- Ability to engage with instructional materials and follow directions
- Access to and ability to use required technology
- Communication and comprehension ability, with or without support such as translation tools
- Physical and functional readiness to perform basic caregiving tasks
- Personal attributes relevant to caregiving, such as patience, flexibility, and adaptability
Students must score 80 percent or higher to be admitted into the program.
