Prerequisite courses and other requirements

Minimum qualifications must be clearly stated and applied in a nondiscriminatory manner [WAC 296-05-015(17)]. Applicant shall be at least 17 years of age. OR An applicant that is currently enrolled in high school or an equivalent program shall be at least 16 years of age. An applicant must meet one of the following criteria: a. High school graduate or equivalent. b. A two-year associate's degree from an accredited postsecondary institution will be accepted in lieu of a high school diploma or equivalent. Must be a minimum of 17 years of age. High school completion or equivalent. Must be able to meet the requirements of the trade. c. An applicant that is 16 years of age must be currently enrolled in high school or an equivalent program. Must be able to perform the work of the trade, with or without reasonable accommodation.
