There will not be more than one apprentice to every one journey-level worker employed in the Maintenance Painter classification at the time of hire. The apprentice shall receive on the job instruction and work experience as is necessary to become a qualified journey-level worker versed in the theory and practice of the occupation covered by these standards.

Minimum qualifications must be clearly stated and applied in a nondiscriminatory manner [WAC 296-05-015(17)]. Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of hire. Must be a high school graduate or the equivalency. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and be physically capable of performing the job requirements with or without accommodation.
