Surgical Technologists are a vital member of the surgical team who provide pre-and post-operative services, as well as assisting during surgical procedures. The Surgical Technology program teaches students the fundamentals in anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, computer applications, ethics and health laws. Students are introduced to operating room environments, receive hands-on training in sterilization techniques and surgical instrument set-up. They will learn about surgical instruments and other surgical supplies. Students will be educated on the basic surgical skills and laboratory procedures that support routine operating room functions. As a Surgical Technologist, you will be demonstrating professional conduct, stress management, and interpersonal communication skills.
