Medical Assistants have a vital role in the healthcare industry. They assist physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and other medical personnel in the treatment and care of patients. In the Medical Assistant program, you will learn a variety of tasks related to both the front and back office. These tasks may include administrative and clerical duties, patient scheduling, obtaining patient history, taking vital signs, administering injections, drawing blood specimens, assisting with minor surgical procedures and performing EKGs. As a Medical Assistant, you will be demonstrating professional conduct, stress management, interpersonal communication skills with patients and their families, peers, and other healthcare personnel.
