Prerequisite courses and other requirements

Minimum qualifications must be clearly stated and applied in a nondiscriminatory manner [WAC 296-05-316(17)]. At least 18 years of age. Applicants must be high school graduates or have a certificate of equivalence and shall submit suitable documentation verifying the same. Applicants must be physically capable of performing the work of this trade with or without reasonable accommodations. Physical tests to include: a) Able to complete plant tour. b) Walk up and down stairs to control room, maintaining three points of contact. c) Lift and carry by the waist 40lb fry oil case 10ft away and back to initial position. d) Able to rotate hand and show acceptable manual dexterity by touching fingertips on each hand. Standardized J. R. Simplot Job Skill Evaluation (JSE) Minimum Passing Score of 75 percent. Applicants must be currently employed by J.R. Simplot and must have completed the hiring probationary period. If no internal applicants apply, the J. R. Simplot Company will advertise externally and Applicants must be able to meet employment requirements for the company and become an employee of the J. R. Simplot Company at the Mechanic II level.
