This 8-hour online course prepares students to become certified Washington State Pilot/Escort Vehicle Operators (P/EVOs). This course draws on the latest industry standards and best practices established at the state and federal levels. Through lectures, activities, quizzes and discussion, students learn about: Legal requirements for P/EVOs and their vehicles. How to read and understand permits and plan for an Oversize Load move. How to pilot the load along a designated route- Hazards and emergency procedure. Students must be prepared to show your driver's license to your instructor at the start of the class. A certification exam will be administered at the end of the class. Students who pass with an 80 percent or better will receive a Washington State P/EVO certification card that is valid for three years. This course is a live, instructor-led webinar followed by a web-based exam that is proctored by the instructor. In order to participate, students must use a desktop computer or laptop with a working camera, microphone, speakers, and a current operating system capable of running the necessary software.
