The Bates barber school offers the most comprehensive, hands-on education in the field. Students prepare to become a licensed barber while learning, working and managing the business end of the college's on-campus barber shop that serves the public. Students learn clipper techniques, barber theory, basic and advanced techniques, styling, razor shaving, and more. In just four quarters, successful graduates will earn a certificate of competency and be prepared to test for the state license.
