Bates Technical College ETPL
Prepares students who have business and industry experience and want to make the transition to the teaching profession, can pursue a CTE certification at the secondary level, grades 7-12. Bates is Washington state Professional Education Standards Board-approved to offer this business and industry route to CTE teacher certification. If you have three years (6,000 hours) of industry experience and want to teach, consider earning a Career and Technical Educator (CTE) certificate. As a Washington State Professional Educator Standards Board-approved provider of the Plan 2 Business and Industry route, we offer flexible, high-quality training to prepare you for teaching grades 7–12. Courses are available online each quarter, with options including evening and weekend Zoom sessions and an accelerated summer track. Note: Courses may be taken in any order, with the exception of the EDU 235 CTE Teaching Practicum that is taken once all other course are complete. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis, and classes do fill up! Register early to ensure your seat in the course.
