Students will heavily discuss load calcs-branch and feeders circuits; conductor selection and sizing and voltage drop calculations; overcurrent protection; and discuss distribution equipment for commercial electrical services including commercial load calcs. Students will undertake a detailed study of NEC Articles 500,501,502,503, and the introduction to the Definitions of Classified Areas/Hazardous Locations. All related NEC articles and RCW/WAC rules and all related code topics will be thoroughly reviewed. Emphasis will be placed on following safe working procedures. Lab date schedule will be provided at the beginning of the quarter. Scheduled dates may be adjusted at instructor's discretion.

CITC students are required to have their own a laptop or tablet computer with video, audio, camera, microphone, and wireless network access with them on their fist day of class. It is crucial that students have the required textbooks and class materials by the first day of class. Students will be instructed on how to purchase the required e-text(s) on the first day of class. To purchase the stand alone NCCERConnect with e-text, students will need a Course ID #. Course ID will be provided by the course instructor. CITC Instructor will provide the Course ID no later than the first day of class.Students are expected to purchase the required e-texts during the first day of class.
