Sparrow Healthcare Education, LLC objectives are to provide the training and education to prepare students for the Certified Medical Assistant exam through a national exam. The curriculum and training will prepare the student to perform clinical tasks and clerical functions, general bookkeeping, and insurance processing within the medical office setting. The Medical Assisting Program consists of four educational areas: Administrative, Clinical, Theory and a Clinical Externship. The components include medical office administrative tasks, compliance, patient rights, communication, and application of critical thinking. The theory and clinical classes focus on a variety of diagnostic tests using equipment, study of anatomy, and patient procedures in the medical setting. Upon successful completion of the practicum experience, students will receive a certificate of completion and will be eligible for national examination. The maximum class size is 20 students with a ratio not to exceed 20:1.

High school diploma/GED. Active nursing assistant certification (NAC). Complete at least 1000 hours of work experience in a nursing home as an NAC within the immediate year prior to the date of application. Must successfully complete the MA-C training program within 1 year to the date of application Current CPR/AED and First Aid Certification. Current KNOW HIV-AIDS Blood Borne Pathogen Certification. Negative TB test. Criminal History Background Check.
