Prepare Student to pass General Knowledge, and Air Brakes, (Class B). Upon Obtaining the CDIP, the course will have an emphasis on safety and a basic knowledge of the FMCSA and WA State rules and regulations. Prepare student to take the Driving Test administered by WA State DOL to obtain a Commercial Drivers License. This course includes hands on behind the wheel driving instruction and observation as a second driver/passenger. The course consists of classroom training, driving, and inspections. Students will begin by driving in a controlled environment and will learn and practice the basics of inspecting a CMV in preparation for the CDL Skills test. Students will progress to road driving and additional challenges. Students will also be versed in advanced backing techniques, over the road techniques, and performance of city driving maneuvers, perform full pre-trip inspections, brake inspections, brake adjustments, install tire chains, and additional functions essential to truck driving.
