One of the essential tools of the modern technology is the computer. The computer is used to support scientific research, development of applications, and the data processing environment. The Computer Science Program provides the necessary core curriculum and supporting courses to train individuals to enter a variety of computer industries. Individuals will also be well qualified to enter graduate programs in computer related areas. Program Competencies: Apply problem-solving and critical-thinking skills and use popular computer technologies in producing technology solutions. Communicate effectively, ethically, and professionally in a team environment. Design and implement elegant programs that utilize data structures and operating systems concepts. The Information and Computer Science (ICS) Department works with Park's Career Development Center in helping to place students in computer internship positions. The ICS Department actively encourages students to work in such internship positions and considers internships to be an integral part of the ICS curriculum.
