The post-masters DNP builds on the masters degree in advanced practice nursing (nurse Practitioner, Certified Nurse Midwife, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist). Students complete the Psych/Mental Health, DNP Core and DNP Scholarly Project coursework. A Gap Analysis is conducted to determine what previous coursework meets the DNP competencies and which additional courses will be required the the PLU DNP/PMHNP.

MSN to DNP/PMHNP prerequisites to be completed before the program start date: Master of Science in Nursing from a regionally or nationally accredited school of nursing with 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA. Current, unencumbered WA State RN license. Completion of college-level statistics (both descriptive and inferential) with a 3.0 (B) or better. Candidates should have direct care RN experience. ARNP candidates only: copy of current advanced practice certification.
