This certificate prepares students for entry-level employment in industrial maintenance and manufacturing environments. It is designed for both individuals entering the field of mechatronics and incumbent workers seeking to upgrade technical skills aligned with current industry demand.
Upon completion of this certificate, students are prepared for employment as maintenance technician trainees or industrial maintenance support personnel. Instruction provides foundational training in electrical systems, fluid power, industrial controls, sensors, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs). Emphasis is placed on hands-on skill development, troubleshooting techniques, schematic interpretation, and adherence to industry safety standards. Coursework includes basic and intermediate hydraulics and pneumatics, AC/DC electrical theory, relay-based control circuits, electronic sensors, and introductory PLC programming using industrial automation platforms.
Instruction is delivered in a hybrid format combining online theory with instructor-supervised laboratory experiences.
