A network security administrator is tasked with protecting and provisioning business networks, with a primary aim to ensure that sensitive data does not leave the control of the business. Related occupational roles include network technicians and cybersecurity analysts. Network technicians are more focused on network infrastructure and connectivity troubleshooting, while cybersecurity analysts are responsible for anticipating and hardening systems against external intrusion.
Minimum qualifications must be clearly stated and applied in a nondiscriminatory manner [WAC 296-05-015(17)]. At least 18 years of age. Must be able to perform the work of the occupations that is herein defined, with or without reasonable accommodation. Candidates who are not United States citizens must demonstrate work eligibility through the duration of the term of apprenticeship.
