State Short Early Childhood Education Certificate – Family Child Care
Students who complete the Early Childhood Education Certificate should be able to: Document knowledge and understanding of essential aspects of NAEYC professional standards and competency areas with a focus on birth through age eight. Design developmentally appropriate early learning environments that support learning for children who are culturally, linguistically, and ability diverse. Identify, use, and refer individuals to credible professional resources to better serve children and families who are culturally, linguistically, and ability diverse. Plan and provide learning experiences with appropriate supporting educational materials for a family child care environment. Modify and update practices by expanding and integrating family child care knowledge and understanding. Apply knowledge and skills learned throughout the program to acquire, meet, or maintain state licensing regulations for employees, facilities, and programs.
