Machining: Quality Assurance

Shoreline Community College ETPL
The certificate in Quality Assurance is a ten-credit two-quarter course of study intended to not only meet the needs of the manufacturing industry for inspectors and quality assurance personnel, but also to provide the field with manufacturing technicians who are better trained in how to make quality parts. In addition to learning practical measurement and inspection techniques that can be applied to verify that the parts they are making meet the customers needs, students will gain a deeper understanding of process control and what it means to make a quality product. Quality Assurance is about keeping the customer happy and staying in business. This program provides an awareness of the concepts, theories, and practices of quality as they relate to todays manufacturing environment, with the goal of preparing students to achieve national quality inspection certification such as the American Society for Quality Certified Quality Inspector.
