650 Clock-hour Massage Program

Alexandar School of Natural Therapeutics ETPL
ASNT is a massage school licensed by the Workforce Board and approved by the Washington State Board of Massage. Prospective students enroll in our 650-hour Massage Program. The 650-Hour Massage Program consists of courses such as Swedish Massage I and Anatomy & Kinesiology. Each course consists of daily class(s). Most days at ASNT consist of a single, four-hour class on one topic. Washington State Department of Health, Board of Massage defines and hour of instruction in WAC 246 -830 -430 (1) ('An hour of education and training is defined as fifty minutes of actual instructional time.'). At ASNT this is considered a minimal amount of time for an "hour" of instruction. ASNT guidance to faculty on instructional time is to allow brakes when changing activities such as: When a lecture concludes, and the students and faculty are setting up for hands-on massage instruction or similar circumstances. A test or quiz is being given and a student is done early or similar circumstances. During a demonstration when a student is group receiving massage treatment however, you must return in time to receive treatment without delay to your fellow students or similar circumstances. This does not apply to the Clinical Experience portion of the program due to the way credit is assigned to each massage session. Breaks are for grabbing a snack, using the restroom, etc. and are not usually long enough to allow excess activity. Additionally, students are free to use the restroom, grab a quick snack or drink of water at any time without explanation to anyone as long as you are not disruptive to your classmates or classroom instruction. ASNT starts two programs each year, one in September and one in March. Each program holds class three days a week and an average of one weekend each month. We make every attempt to have only one weekend class per month. However, on occasion, more weekend classes may be necessary. Weekdays are divided into day sessions from 9 am to 1 pm and evening sessions from 6 pm to 10 pm. While you may elect to attend the day or evening sessions, you are welcome to attend either session if you have a situation that would prevent you from attending at your normal class-time and if additional space is available in the classroom. Weekend classes range from one four-hour session on Saturday and/or Sunday to eight-hour sessions on Saturday and/or Sunday.

Data is unavailable for one of several reasons: In some cases, the institution has not provided the Workforce Board with data to independently evaluate program performance. We encourage all schools to provide this data on an annual basis. In other cases, the program joined Career Bridge recently and student data has not been reported yet. In other cases, the program is too small or too new to provide reliable results.
